30 August 2016

Whitlam MP Stephen Jones was on hand today to replace the Australian flag currently flying above the main street in Moss Vale.

The new flag, presented to Councillor Graham McLaughlin this afternoon, is a timely replacement for the previous one which was looking tattered and worn.

Stephen Jones was glad to tell Councillor McLaughlin that the new flag has special significance.

This flag was actually in the House of Representatives in Parliament House earlier this year on February 10.

This particular day featured the Closing the Gap ministerial statements, one of the most significant events to happen in the chamber each year.

In addition to that this flag was in the chamber when the Narcotics Drugs Amendment Bill was introduced into Parliament. This Bill takes Australia one step closer to making medicinal cannabis available for people with serious and life threatening diseases.

If your household or an organisation that you are involved with needs a new Australian flag get in touch with my office and Ill gladly present you with a new one.
