I am a Widow working full time with my youngest about to start University and I care for my elderly Mother. Without Medicare I can not possibly afford to give my Mother the care that she will need let alone myself ( both my Mother and I have Fibromyalgia). Please leave Medicare alone there are too any Australians like myself who cannot afford private health insurance.

We all knew they’d start chipping away at Medicare. We were right

It seems to me that Mr. Turnbull is taking away all benefits from us pensioners and giving to the wealthy. I did not vote this government in and we need to get rid of them as soon as possible. I am starting to feel very concerned about my future. I feel Turnbull is a very unfair and dangerous man. Regards, Graham

As someone with a disability I need to see the GP frequently. Without medicare I would not be able to afford the cost of a consultation. Mr Turnbull lives a life of luxury, how could he even begin to relate to my situation.

We should have an adequately funded public health system which is free from any profit motive or private business interests that is affordable to everybody and that provides quality services without waiting lists. If other countries can do this, why can’t we? The Liberal government has betrayed the electorate in the privatisation of Medibank, now mired in misconduct and irresponsible behaviour by its CEO, and it has outsourced and under-funded other necessary services to the detriment of the public. Liberal economic ‘management’ has consistently disadvantaged the public.

Thank you for all the great work you do. It is wonderful to have an MP you truly cares for people in his electorate. One area that needs action is the problem with pensioners teeth … One example is a friend who needed to have all her upper teeth removed but will now be forced to live with no dentures for more than a year due to the current waiting time in Bowral … can you imagine no teeth for a year?

You’re not happy unless you’re taking every thing medical off us and making us pay in excess amount of money for medical needs, back off our Medicare .Is this your way of culling the australian under privaliged population?

Bruno Conte (below) said it all perfectly “Universal access to a free / low cost first class health system is fundamental to a decent quality of life.”
