Mr Abbott, support our schools.

Save our Schools

I support Labor's National Plan for School Improvement

Our kids here in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands deserve the best start in life and the only way this can be achieved is to follow Labor’s plan for Better Schools. I want to let Tony Abbott and the Liberals know that this important reform cannot be scrapped.

I am tired of seeing teacher aides cut back from every school in the Illawarra under the lying Liberal Party. I am tired of class sizes in the Illawarra now reaching 32 with many children in each class suffering from disabilities as the lying Liberals do not want to build any more special schools as it is very hard to find teachers that can tolerate these severe disabilities. I am tired of seeing the lying Liberals reduce administration staff in each school which means that teachers have more paperwork to do each year reducing there time in the classroom and adding a lot of stress to new teachers out of uni which leads to a 50% drop out rate after just one year of teaching! Wake up pathetic Liberals!

Investment in education is non-negotiable. Don’t scrap the Gonski reforms that have already been committed to by the Prime Minister and Premier.

I’m a student in my last year of study becoming a PDHPE teacher in public schools. I think budget cuts should be happening in areas that aren’t necessities. Education is a necessity, if we ruin children’s education we are hindering their future and therefore hindering our country’s future.

Cuts to funding = cuts in teaching = cuts in learning. This has got to be one of the biggest no-brainer’s ever.

Is this how the government wants to be remembered?
