NEW IPADS FOR OAK FLATS PS

08 February 2019

Member for Whitlam Stephen Jones has secured funding to purchase new iPads for Oak Flats Public School.

The 30 iPads will be used by students at the school, as well as other Oak Flats community organisations including the Senior Citizens Club, Kids Club and Rathas Place.

Mr Jones met with students at the school today to see how they have been using technology to learn the basics of coding.

I was very impressed with how the students are using technology to pick up skills I believe will be very important in the future, said Mr Jones.

Im happy to able to play a part in furthering this modern approach to education.

This is another example of Labors commitment to education in the Illawarra.

We have a strong track record in supporting education, and have committed to restoring $21,400,000 in funding cut by the current Government if we are elected in May.

Under our commitment a school like Oak Flats Public will be $480,000 better off under a Shorten Labor Government.
