Labor Loves Live Music is a campaign fighting to revive the live music industry before it is too late. Many local hotels have either stopped hosting live gigs or closed down, after years of vexatious complaints and costly legal cases, it is time for Councils to start promoting instead of prosecuting live music venues.
Dear Local Councillors in Wollongong, Shellharbour and Wingercaribee,
We the undersigned:
Call on all Local Councillors to immediately adopt a 'Good Neighbour' policy that will:
1) End the unnecessary prosecution of live music venues
2) Convene regular meetings between licensees and local residents to resolve noise complaints and protect the rights of existing venues
3) Deliver greater protection to long standing venues against newly arrived neighbours making unreasonable complaints
